Last week's experience at Moseley Square was sublime so this was always going to be tough. We arrived at the restaurant to be greeted by some new staff and instruction from one to sit where we didn't want to sit. This was quickly corrected and they re-laid a table for two by the window. While they were doing that I realised I'd left my phone in the car so we left to retrieve it so I'd be able to pay later on. When we got to the car I couldn't find my phone so we drove home to get it. When the BCK went to the front door to go in to grab my phone, a vibration from the floor told me the phone was actually in the car, just on the floor, so we drove back to the restaurant and took our table. Amateur hour!
We received our complimentary small mango lassis and pumpadumps, and on departure were charged for the full size ones we'd ordered. Plus a bit extra but I didn't want to make a scene.
The food was good and there was a ton left over to cover two or three other meals at home. We had a fun night, but it was missing something, and the overcharging left a poor taste. These places rely so much on the staff. And when they've got ear buds in the whole time including when serving its not a great look.
But what did the BCK think?
"It was yummy like always. The butter chicken was nice and creamy and wasn't that spicy. The mango lassi was also nice and thick. We had to go look for Daddy's phone but then it wasn't in the car so we had to drive home, but then Mango Daddy found it. That's all I have to say".
So we'll be giving Tandoori Bliss a break for a while. Time for new pastures anyway and we'll need to go a little bit further from home. Henley here we come.
